mom's doing great. she never got sore or achy from the fall. isn't that weird? and her face bruises are healing nicely. she never once even remembered the fall or the hospital visit. that's normal. she claims to remember the ambulance ride, but i have my doubts. i think she remembers us talking about it. you know, like when you "remember" early childhood memories, but really you're remembering photos of them?
i took the camera over to get a shot of her and the dog together, but the battery was dead. doh! maybe tomorrow. in the meantime...
...here's a picture of awol and his girlfriend, gigi, on my bed.
more miscellaneous crap:
this video may not interest you all that much, but it appeals to me because i have actually used all but the 1st technique to manipulate large limestone blocks. (i've never moved a barn, though.)
and i think this is very, very cool. “You’ve done a great job with the dirt. But what about the water?”, dr. sylvia earle. (check out the video in the article. dr. earle rocks!)
after the camera battery charges i'll take some pics of some of the greatest road kill in months, but for now it's just more doggy-love.
both of 'em ready for the POUNCE!

That is the cutest dog!
I'm glad Mom is healing and no worse for the wear. Thank God.
mom is such a trooper. it just blows my mind.
she'll look in the mirror and do a double-take. sometimes i think she's not sure who that is in the mirror.
but today i commented on how nicely her black eye was healing and she actually said something like, "thank you, that makes me feel better." i think tomorrow i'll take her to the hair salon.
You are a good son.
Can't wait to see pictures of Mom with the dog. That will be cute. I'll bet Awol is a big hit at VT.
yep. awol is a super star, a grand slam home run and a hat trick all rolled into one at vt.
Glad Mom wasn't sore and is healing.
I'm a geek, I found that stone moving video fascinating. It also kinda makes me want a stone henge for my yard.
It looks like Gigi takes noe schitt from Awol either. Good for her.
Awol is such an adorable little dog! He's a ham for the camera.
You sure know how to make a lady feel better. Take her to get her hair done...that always fixes things:)
Glad Mom is healing up. Sweet thing she is. And her son ain't bad either;) You're a great guy, Rick. Any mother would be proud to have a son like you.
Glad to hear that your Mom is doing well. Mine never remembered the falls or had the soreness either, I agree, it is a strange thing.
So, now I know. I'm still laughing over the informative Jack Schitt story, and I assure you that will be my answer the next time I am informed of my ignorance on this subject! LOL!
Cornbread, I'm sorry about Mom's fall and injury. What a bruiser. I heard a new story last night about a friend's mom w/Alz. Apparently, this old gal can run like a bat outa hell. No kidding, she was never athletic as a youngster, but she will take off like she's sprinting for olympic gold and try for as far as she can go before getting reeled in. Hey, check out my latest post on QMB. Cheers to all!
Rick, Hope this makes you laugh. It's from my whack a** brother and VERY FUNNY
Thought you might find this amusing. Yesterday I was buying a 2 large
bags of Purina dog chow at Walmart, for my dogs
Winston, Chief, Gus, and Maximus.
I was about to check out when a woman behind me
asked if I had a dog. What did she think, that I had an elephant?
Since I had little else to do, on impulse, I told her that no, I didn't
have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Diet again, although I
probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital last time. On the
bright side though, I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in
the Intensive Care Ward with tubes coming out of every hole in my body
and IVs in both
arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way
that it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply
eat one
or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally
complete so I was going to try it again. (I have20to mention here that
practically everyone in the line was enthralled with my story by now.)
Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog
food had poisoned me. I told her no; I had stopped in the middle of the
parking lot to lick my butt and a car hit me.
I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack, he was
laughing so hard!
chris - thanks.
cin - thanks.
stitchwhiz - i'll check it out.
susan m - omg. that's so hilarious. is it true?
You guess!
omg he is sooo cute.
glad gmommy's eye's healing. does she still get her nails done?
josephine - she sure does. it's an *activity* every tuesday afternoon on her floor. and i still take her to the podiatrist every once in a while.
re: sean's tweet about hating dogs this morning...he obviously doesn't know awol.
