S.O.T.D.

i should have taken a picture of my dinner. you would be sooo jealous. provided you're not vegetarian or vegan.

fried bologna and tomato(yes, also fried) with lettuce and avocado on sourdough bread.

for some reason avocados are 3 for a dollar right now and i have been in sandwich heaven. avocado and eggs, chicken salad and avocado, tomato and avocado, avocado and avocado, peanut butter and avocado...

ok. so i didn't really have a PB&A. but i just might.

what's your favorite sandwich?

My favorite is something my mother used to make for me. Nothing crazy but just a summersausage and mustard sandwich on white. Then she used to cut it in quarters for me. I don't think it was the sandwich so much but the conversation I enjoyed when I came home from school and we would sit and talk.

On a sillier note, I do love banana and peanut butter sandwiches. Now that's some good eat'in.

anonymous - you can't have mine. i ate it!

chris - i had a friend i sometimes went home with after school. 50 years later i still remember the pleasure of sitting at his kitchen table and visiting with him and his mom. we usually had cookies and milk.

yes, quarters. or at least in half on the diagonal. yes, summer sausage. yes, pb&b!

dad sandwiches.
but freshly made, not taken to school because the tomato always gets the sourdough bread mushy and i hate mushy bread.
can't decide whether pre-veg sandwiches were the best (turkey, swiss cheese, potato or sourdough bread, mustard, ranch, pickles) or veg (avocado, tomato, swiss cheese, other cheese, pepper, pickles, sourdough bread, anything else that seemed like a good idea). either way, i got some sweet stuff whenever i couldn't finish my sandwich at school. trades galore.

Dang, now I'm hungry! Fried egg with pepper jack cheese on dark rye bread. Comes in handy when you have over-achieving hens in the chicken coop.

baloney with peanut butter on white bread
or
cold biscuit with mustard and a slice of paper thin sliced onion
