Happy Holidays, Rick.
thanks.
Have a Merry Christmas, Rick. I hope you're spending it with loved ones near.
Have a good walkabout cornbread.
Peace to you, Rick.
Wishing you peace, love, and joy during the holidays and all days, Rick. ((hugs))
thank you all. so much.
we're off to my sister's now.
may all your moments be filled with wonder... and seen... and appreciated...
I understand the need to take a break. I'll keep the light on for you. Peace be yours now and always, my friend.
Merry Christmas!
Hope you had a Merry Christmas Rick! I miss your posts :(
Hope you're enjoying your visit. I look forward to your return.
I'm having serious detox from not reading your blog. Just thought I would let you know that. Hugs to you.
you know what, chris?
i appreciate that very much. and donald's, rilera's and joanne's and everyone else's good wishes, too.
i do continue to write, but what i write seems so insignificant in the grand scheme of things. in relation to what others are going through my experience feels too small to bother with, to impose, if you will.
the result is no posts.
mom's doing *ok.* she's physically healthy, has the benefit of living in a suitable environment and has some devoted family to care for her.
oftentimes i read of other's plights and feel guilty for my flippant, silly posts. the result, again, is no post.
i think i am a better reader than writer.
Rick, You're doing a wonderful job with your mom and staying by her side and being her advocate is an admirable thing. Don't ever think that what you write and how you spend your time with your mom is insignificant or a small thing. I miss your posts and have never found them flippant, silly, or insignificant. They are actually quite refreshing in the grand scheme of things. And when I read them, they often brighten what would have been just another day in this long journey. ((HUGS))
Exactly what Joanne said. Exactly.
I keep checking hoping to see a new one. I'll keep checking.
TRAIL CLOSED??? wahhh i just get some time to come here and catch up on ur life and its shut downnnnnnnnnnn.lol ok ill be patient its wortht he wait!!!!!! happy holidays
flippant, silly posts. WITCBH???(what in the cornbreadhell) are you talking bout boy?? your posts bring happiness and much needed relief to lots of people. i know myself when i think my load is hard to carry i come hear and see how you deal with things and i see the pain as well as the lighthearted way you write and add humour....... it makes this girl alot happier........ anyways thats my two cents
Rick, I too will continue to check back here...I hope you do know in your heart that you have touched many, have brought smiles and inspiration and that you are appreciated!
Wishing you peace and happiness in the New Year!
come back lots of people miss u
........
like me:-(
And where are you?! I come over here every day to get my comic relief and the hiking trail is still closed! Bad weather? Lurking bears? You lighten many a load, my friend with your wonderful outlook on life and make us appreciate the many oddities in our own lives. I'll bring the picnic basket and bear bells if you'll just come back and tickle our fancies again. We miss you bunches.
There is nothing flippant or insignificant about this blog -
True, there are serious problems in the world: War, corruption, disease... and good people dealing with them all and then some. You have a way of not trivializing Alzheimer’s, yet doing so in a way that brings a smile. THAT is very important.
Anyway...

well, y'all sure know how to make a guy feel better.
am in austin at my brother's for a few days.
i'll post later on. thanks.
Merry New Year Cornbread.
One of my resolutions for 2008 is to meet you and maybe share a meal and libation at Javier's or perhaps that place in Southlake.
You all be careful down there in Austin and I expect some pictures.
Rick! All my best wishes to you and your family tonight and for the new year. Hope you're back at it soon. As you can see, you have a following in the blogosphere - for all kinds of good and justifiable reasons. Keep the faith.
Hello Rick,
I hope you a sweet Christmas and that 2008 will be a Wonderful Year for You,!
I saw your trail closed sign and didn’t read any further. I have just read the comments and see I should have much sooner. Sorry , Im late.
I think your are wrong about your blog and being trivial. Your blog keeps you in touch with your cyber friends, Its almost like sitting down and talking with an old friend!
I also think that it’s the all the little details in life that make the whole picture. If you didn’t have all of those you wouldn’t have the enrichness of the whole painting of life, Its all important. So my cyber friend.. I hope that you keep writing to stay in touch with us, in 2008, wow!
Peggy
